. @infinex This is triggered by some discussion on CT today, but tbh I was looking at my Infinex wallet for days and wondered what was going on 🤷🏻‍♀️ Here’s the story: I swidged 990 $USDC for 1,027 $sUSD on June 18, thinking I was rotating into a stable $1 asset. At the time, $sUSD was slightly above the peg, but it looked solid (no traces of April’s turbulence). Fast forward to now: In a month, $sUSD is trading around $0.88. My 1,027 $sUSD is worth about $908. That’s an unexpected 8% haircut on what should’ve been a stable position, eh? Based on publicly available information, the depeg seems to be tied to broader market volatility, reduced arbitrage pressure, and $sUSD oversupply on platforms like Curve. I have no idea, if it is one thing or a combination of a few. Even though SIP-420 was implemented back in April to stabilize the system, the effects on peg health clearly continue to ripple. This is the reality of algorithmic and crypto-collateralized stablecoins: they’re stable… until they aren’t. Still, I’m staying engaged, and hopeful to win 1:5 weekly raffle rewards with my 1 raffle ticket 😅 Hopefully, the peg will recover or the team will implement some other measures to reinstate $1.
